Project for Today- New Counter Top! You can help me install a counter top today if you like. The old counter top was made of the left over scraps of OSB board and hardwood flooring I had left after I finished the cabin. I had run out of money at this point and was scrounging for anything I could find to make it livable before winter. That laminated flooring is actually good stuff for counter tops and really takes a beating but because it was in strips over time it got gunked up in the joints and didnt look clean so out it goes. My homemade counter is 54 by 23 and a standard counter top is designed for 24-25 inches and it is 6 foot long so a little cutting and fill trim will be needed but not much. My sink is a two tub 24x18 and was salvaged out of my old camp trailer and those are really nice for a small cabin like mine. I knew I would be replacing the counter top at some point so it was all left loosely attached and the sink just lifted out. Here is what I have to work with:
