Prologue~ It is a myth universally acknowledged that a writer in want of success must acquire the tools and experiences necessary. Just like the Elements of Harmony, the world of Equestria is home to many interesting artifacts. There are objects filled with great power that can help even the least creative of authors become a god of their own world. Dark objects, with evil power. Not everything is friendship and harmony. No, the land has seen its fair share of darkness. Like the wings of oppression spreading over the sun, blocking out not just the light, but hope. But where evil rises, heroes will always be called forward to help save the day – even if they are the least likely candidates. Yet even a hero may fall. Giving into temptation and the secret thoughts that one should really keep locked up. Even now, our should-be-protagonist is entering that antique shop. See her? Of course you can – the yellow mare, with an orange mane. Something in the window has caught her eye, and she can’t help but want it. Yes, you can see it too, can’t you? The strikingly black quill, with its silver point. Any writer worth their salt would feel confident owning something as ‘cool’ as that. “I’ll take it,” the pony says eagerly, her accent out of place in the back streets of Canterlot. “Are you sure, ma’am? It has a story.” Even better, she thinks, and hands over the money. “It is said to be made from a feather of her royal princess, Luna – so it is extremely rare. Please, look after it.” “Of course.” And that’s it. The catalyst has been found – the wheels of fate are turning. A tale of dark creation is yet to unfold.
