Promoting Rallye Beaujolais 2013 and Fundraising for The RNLI Description and Insight into the Mini4RNLI objectives "Mini4RNLI” is a 12 month project set up by Bob Higginson and Roy Bickley in aid of The Torbay RNLI. Our initial aim is to promote Rallye Beaujolais 2013 throughout the year by competing in Hill Climbs, Sprints, Rallies, Club Meetings and Shows throughout the UK selling advertising space on both the Mini, Support Vehicles, Merchandising and with our Internet presence at mini4rnli.org.uk and Facebook/Twitter accounts on https://facebook/mini4rnli. The Rallye Beaujolais 2013 will be an organised rally departing with media attention from Brixham Lifeboat Station en-route to Plymouth on the evening of Friday 22nd of November and returning on the afternoon of Monday 25th November (long weekend) taking in the lovely French countryside along route to the Beaujolais region, approximately 1200 miles will be covered over the weekend. Two support vehicles will be participating in the rally driven by qualified mechanics. We expect the rally to be challenging but above all great fun. The exact route and challenges are a closely guarded secret and will only be issued on the ferry crossing to Roscoff. Entrants will be set challenges along the way with prizes awarded for winners of stages and competitions. Prizes have been donated by various companies including Snap-On. Villandry, Autoglym, Peli Products, Loop Fobs, Chris Slack Photography, Quba Sails and Liaisons UK Ltd. We hope to have up to 50 teams competing in the challenge in groups of 5. Car clubs and individuals are invited to join us and we expect a variety of vehicles to take part including the Yachtsman and Entrepreneur Peter de Savary. Brittany Ferries are assisting us by allowing teams to book the event direct through a Mini4RNLI page on their website brittanyferries.co.uk/m4rnli with a special discount for Rally Beaujolais teams, each team will pay £100 for the route and challenges, which will form the basis of our fund raising during the event. Individual teams who are raising funds for a registered charity will be able to compete for £50. (Entrance fee will be collected on the ferry crossing) Restaurants will be encouraged to host Beaujolais events, where competitors will be able to deliver the wine with a grand entrance and a photo call on their arrival. We welcome entrants from all over the UK. The RNLI is funded entirely by charitable donations and bequests and fundraising events such as this are an important way in ensuring The RNLI can continue their life saving work. We encourage supporters to visit virginmoneygiving and mini4rnli.org.uk to donate to this very worthwhile charity.
