Pronounced as it is spelled, Naija is used in less formal contexts and it’s used to show humor, appreciation or love for the country. It is also mostly used in the entertainment industry. That’s why Google gave me a whole different range of pictures when I checked. What does this tell you? For those of us who are Nigerians, don’t be too hard on your country. Just because things seem to not be working out doesn’t mean we should give up on our country. Always look on the bright side. If Nigeria does not work, Naija will. We have a lot, a whole lot to be thankful for. Nigeria is a country where a person can rise from obscurity to stardom overnight. And I still truly believe that we are the happiest people on earth. Forget all the devil is doing trying to sponsor mayhem. We Nigerians love ourselves too much and on a normal day, all we do is strive for a better future. Despite all the odds, the normal Nigerian remains positive.
