Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gave us the formula to success. He was the most intelligent human being ever to live, perfect in every way possible, taught and guided by the Almighty Creator Himself. Whatever he recommended to do, there was tremendous benefit in doing so, and whatever he recommended not to do, there was great harm in doing so. In other words, whatever the Prophet (PBUH) did, we NEED to do. He fasted not only in Ramadan, but also consistently outside of Ramadan. The Almighty Creator taught him that one of the greatest trials for our future generations would be against our desires. As long as these desires are suppressed and under control, we will be able to stay on the right path. Its when you lose control over these desires, when even the most righteous man could cheat on his wife, or even the other way around, and end up in the pit of the fire. Do people truly realize that we are in the battle of our lives, and that we must try to do whatever we have to do in order to try to stay on the right path? When Ramadan ended, many of us were feeling very strong and confident, and since Ramadan has ended, many people are slowly on the decline. I expected many people this year to analyze the previous years and to learn from their mistakes and realize the importance of fasting throughout the entire year if they ever want to stand a chance of hoping to pass this test. The Prophet (PBUH) fasted consistently on Mondays and Thursdays. That is a major part of this key to success. The Prophet (PBUH) did it, so we MUST do it. We fasted for 29-30 days straight in Ramadan, fasting twice a week now is really not that hard. Something becomes less difficult when you truly have a desire to do it. If you truly have a desire to love and get closer to Allah (SWT), then I swear you will even enjoy the feeling of some pain or some sacrifice or some hunger. Dear brothers and sisters, this is our only one life, give it all you got for the sake of Almighty Allah (SWT)! We will be fasting tomorrow (Thursday) inshaAllah! We hope that you will join us.
