Prophet TB Joshua has offered the remaining family members of the SCOAN tragedy an invite to spend a week over Christmas - Nee Year at the church. All expenses paid. News reports confirm Families are ecstatic at this. I think this invite along with monies given by SCOAN takes us on a precarious path. It appears the Prophet refuses to deal with the legal aspects in his Home Country but assumes dangling money and favors will fix the wrong of a hotel/ accommodation building compliance matter. I also think the families are falling for these offers way to easy. My fear is R50k per family can absolve the Prophet from a definite responsibility he must own up to as the town planner already testified. Should we accept that Prophet Joshuas gifts to the families imply a direct acknowledgement of unconditional responsibility ? Should we see these gifts as platitudes? Should we see these monetary gifts as an abuse of economic power? Should we see these monetary gifts as a means of softening the families for future legitimate claims which may run into millions but can not be fixed by a R50k, a flight and accomodation for a week? What are the real the reasons for these gifts of it does not admit categorically responsibility for the tragedy. If it is, can the Prophet escape because South Africans are poor and gullible for a R50k, in exchange for their loved ones lives?
