Protect a Pup – the campaign aimed at ending the death of abandoned dogs by setting in place preventative measures; we aim to provide free neuters, free spays, free microchipping, free dog food and free advice to those in need. 8,985 dogs were killed last year by local authorities, their only crime: having no home. There is simply not enough demand for the amount of dogs being bred in the UK and unfortunately that’s all it boils down to. We believe dogs should not be treated as commodities but as living beings and that their welfare as a species should be of uttermost concern to those with power as should every living being. Protect a Pup wants to see an end to the ‘statutory local authority kennelling period’, currently set to 7 days – this is when homeless dogs can be killed – on the 8th day. Please join the campaign and donate if you can at: protectapup.org Sign the petition at: epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/52351 Facebook: facebook/protectapup Twitter: @protectapup Thank you.
