Protesters who smashed bilingual plates in Vukovar arrested! Ministry of Internal Affairs of Croatia issued a statement saying that today, in Vukovar, several people were arrested during the protest against bilingual (Latin and Cyrillic) plates. Placing was obstructed by a group of citizens and representatives of the Committee for the Defence of Croatian Vukovar, who first broke the plate with a hammer and then took it off, and then removed it also from the building of Vukovar police. The police did not meet the requirements of the protesters to release earlier apprehended five members for forcible removal of the bilingual plate, Croatian electronic media reported, adding that about 300 protesters continued the protest in front of the police building. In the Police station of Vukovar-Srem region the police and protesters negotiated during the evening, but the negotiations were finished quickly with no success, so detained protesters remain in custody, Hina agency reported. Unofficially, three persons from Vukovar and two from Vinkovci are in detention.
