Protocol 101: THE CASSOCK - The garment of the servant and utilized by ANYONE serving in the Sanctuary. Every Church has their own version of the Cassock, The Roman having 33 buttons for the life of Christ and 5 on the sleeve for the wounds of Christ. The Anglican which is double breasted. The Greek which wraps around the front and the Russian buttoning at the neck and waist. The cassock is usually black indicating the Priest has died to himself and is dead to the world. Many times while wearing, if hes dead to the world why is he noticed in this black robe? While HE is dead to the world it is CHRIST that is alive in him and attracts the unsaved to this strange man dressed in black.
