::Proud Mummy brag alert:: Had our first Parent/Teacher - TopicsExpress

::Proud Mummy brag alert:: Had our first Parent/Teacher interviews and reports for all four younger boys at Saint Andrews this afternoon. All we really hoped for was news that they had each settled and were coping ok with changing schools…. well… can we say out of the ball park? Lachlan…. superior…. an asset to the school… if hed been here all year hed get colours (which is recognition for straight As that goes onto their blazers once they reach year six) and in the top few students of his whole grade. OMG… I cried! Is so well liked more than 3/4 of his classmates put him down as a student they would like to have in their class next year…. (whats up with the other 1/4? huh *wink) Hamish….. is so happy and comfortable at school he works hard (when the topic interests him, if it doesnt he literally gets up and leaves the room)….. we will be talking about that! Hes SO well liked he could be everybodys best friend. Hes been put into Maths extension and his reading and spelling have come along SO well his teacher was so excited for him. He got a D in science as he refused to do the assessment piece (reminds me of myself refusing to dissect a rat and therefore failing) Oh well! Basically we wanted Hamish to go to school each day and be happy. No more bullying. He is flourishing and we are THRILLED! Stirling….. is doing very well, hes high above average in all aspects of his work. His numeracy skills are off the charts and his writing, letter/sound knowledge are all great… if they did straight As for Prep he would have got them. Except sometimes he gets distracted ….. like when Angus is in his face! (they are separating next year) Angus…. my precious boy.. he is being flagged for needing some extra help. I raised with his teacher a while back that I was concerned about his ability to concentrate and his impulsiveness and frustration levels when he found work challenging. He has my Radar up for a diagnosis of ADHD and when I mentioned that to his teacher she agreed whole heartedly. She has been BRILLIANT and I wish he could keep her as she is so positive and so engaged with him….. he has had lots of one on one support and academically while hes not off the charts he is going along perfectly on average. He knows his numbers, he knows his alphabet and the sounds, he is expressive in his writing (as in using BOLD lettering and exclamation marks)….we are happy to report he is very affectionate and is the first to comfort others if they are hurt and also apparently his teachers fiercest defender… if someone is doing something wrong he does not hold back in telling them Ms S would not appreciate that sort of behaviour. Great school. Very happy.
