Proud of my hounds today for finishing 2014 Dutchfield Dog Survival! Daisy managed to complete all 15 obstacles and run the distance (5km) in 42 mins, she was awesome using her new shorty harness (thanks Andrae) and Im sure we would have got a faster time if I wasnt so unfit and asking her to slow down because I was getting scared of her speed as we zoomed down-hill on gravel haha she made up-hill jogging a breeze! We placed 14th out or 43 competitors - anyone who knows how much Ive always sucked at (and had a disliking for) exercise, running and fitness in general would know how thrilled I would have been to achieve this result haha Especially since we got the wooden spoon last year and I am basically just happy finishing the course! Im hoping if I actually start jogging regularly from now on, that Daisy and I might be able to beat our PB next year :) I am also very happy with Rosie and Jim who tackled the obstacles during the pouring rain in the recreational category! Jim always tries his hardest to do what I ask and Rosie really surprised me with what she was willing to do and also seemed to be enjoying it haha they are both in comas now though! Lily was also very well behaved and seemed to want to get in on the action - next year (Titch haha) :) Amarula also did really well with Amy Joy who handled Rosie too! She has lots of anxiety issues around strange people and dogs but coped really well and had a lot of fun! It was also great to see Barbie Ska and Mouse with Jet and Nicole out on the course - doing rescue greyhounds proud! Congrats to the winners of each category (1st, 2nd and 3rd). I am looking forward to next year already!
