Proverbs 15:5 A fool despiseth his fathers instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. When someone DISCIPLINES someone, they are really showing kindness to them! Take a moment to reflect upon YOUR life and the times a parent, friend, spouse, or teacher corrected YOU for YOUR own good. A lesson was learned, YOU benefited from it, and YOU were better for it! It takes grace to correct children or a friend, and it takes grace to receive correction. When correction is properly given and received, growth takes place. This is really the breaking ground for developing spiritual DISCIPLINES. Our Heavenly Father loves us enough to DISCIPLINE us when we need it, and this gives us an opportunity to grow closer to Him and grow in our faith. YOU and TRUTH!
