Province of Bulacan Bulacan honors outstanding coop CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan thru the Provincial Cooperative and Economic Development Office (PCEDO) recognized this year’s awardees who have epitomized excellence in building lives and communities through cooperativism during the Parangal sa mga Natatanging Kooperatiba ng Taon and Fellowship at the The Pavillion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city last October 25, 2013. The winning rosters for category A-Outstanding Cooperative Award are Paschal Multipurpose Cooperative-Pandi, Bulacan (3-5 years service); Municipal Employees of Norzagaray Multipurpose Cooperative- Norzagaray, Bulacan (6-10 years service); and Kapit Bisig sa Pag-unlad Multipurpose Cooperative – Pandi, Bulacan (11 and more years service); category B - Hall of Fame Award is the Catmon MPC of Santa Maria, Bulacan and category C- Cooperative Award for Continuing Excellence or Coop-ACE is the Sta. Cruz Savings and Credit Cooperative-Obando, Bulacan. Moreover, Malolos Credit and Development Cooperative, Minuyan Family Development & Multipurpose Cooperative, Bagong Barrio Multipurpose Cooperative, Our Lady of Salambao Multipurpose Cooperative, San Jose Del Monte National Trade School Teachers and Employees Multipurpose Cooperative, Divine Mercy Shrine Multipurpose Cooperative, Sto. Nino De Parada Multipurpose Cooperative, Palanas Multipurpose Cooperative and Samahang Kapatirang Kababaihan ng Pulilan Multipurpose Cooperative got special awards The winners took home cash prizes, trophies and certificates of recognition. With the theme Kooperatiba: Daan Tungo sa Sama-samang Pag-unlad, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado lauded their contributions and achievements in the area of cooperative organization, management, financial and participation in community development. “Mahalagang papel ang ginagampanan ng mga kooperatiba sa pag-unlad ng lalawigan. Bukod sa job generation ay nakatutulong ito sa problema sa kahirapan, gayundin pinalalago nito ang kabuhayan ng mga mahihirap sa kanayunan, magsasaka, mangingisda at mga rural worker,” the governor said. Meanwhile, PCEDO headed by Cynthia Abiol has lined up activities for the celebration of Cooperative and Enterprise Month this October that include trainings on Parliamentary Procedures and Conflict Management, orientations on Labor and other related laws, bloodletting in different municipalities and cities, trade fair and bowling tournament. PCEDO also participated in the 6th National Tripartite Conference on Cooperative Development at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
