Ps 33:11 But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Isa 40:28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. James 1:17-18 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. There are many other verses I could have chosen but I thought these expressed God’s attribute of immutability. God doesn’t change even though man has tried to make Him change. Throughout history mankind has dealt with the same issues. I’m amazed that God has so much patience with us. What He says in His Word was true when He said it and it is still true. God does not change, but it seems that neither does man. The basic issues we have dealt with over the years have been written about in the Bible for years. At least over the last 4000 years or so man has had the same issues and has tried to change God’s mind about them but God doesn’t change. Technology over the past century has improved our lives but our basic issues haven’t changed. Sin is dealt with throughout the Bible. From Genesis to The Revelation. It seems that mankind, including many Christians want God to change His mind on sin but He never changed His mind throughout the Word and it is my belief that He still hasn’t changed. As with all sin, we still are called to love the sinner but speak the Biblical truth regarding any particular sin. I am convinced that Christ loves them and so should we. I hope and pray that people will read their Bibles and consider His commandments and start living by them. God hasn’t acted for awhile but I believe He soon will act and I hope everyone gets their house in order before it is too late. I agree with Habakkuk when He cried out to God and said “How much longer, O Lord, will you allow this to go on before you do something about it (my paraphrase). Shalom, Mike
