Psalm 87. This is an enigmatic Psalm. It tells us that the fountains of God are not to be found in the nations of the earth. They are not in Egypt, in Africa or Asia, in Europe, in America or in the UK. Only by coming to God, can one be born again and be a citizen of Gods Kingdom. The Hebrew peoples worshipped the living God in the temple of His presence. But our Lord Jesus fulfilled prophecy, tore the temple curtain between God and the people that the priests erected so that we can approach God humbly, and directly. Jesus met the demands of the living God in His sacrificial death, burial, and glorious resurrection. Those who know the Lord join the list of peoples from biblical times to their own--they are born of the spirit. This old poem, elu-sive as it seems to be, is the certain song of redemption. So, Live well and Go well. Remember that to those whom much has been given much will be required. Let those that dwell in Zion, mark this, and live up to their profession. Zions songs shall be sung with joy and triumph. The fountains of the joy of a worldly life are in wealth and pleasure; but of a gracious soul, in the word of God and prayer. All grace and consolation are derived from Christ. ( Matthew Henry) Follow Him, live for Him. Be passionate in your worship, radical in your hospitality, extravagant in your generosity, risk-taking in your mission and service, and intentional in your discipleship youtu.be/3UczfZfCwU0
