Public memory is so short! Three years ago, an electorate oppressed for years by leftist goons voted TMC to power. There was hope in the air, and slogans of Poribortan echoed everywhere. And then Didi started showing her true colours. Two years ago, this same woman almost scuppered the Indo-Bangla relations over the Teesta water sharing issue. And now, she has reinvented herself as the messiah of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants! Is Mamata schizophrenic? Or has she suddenly woken up to the fact that illegal Bangladeshis form a ready vote bank? Why is Mamata suddenly behaving like she rules from Dhaka, and not from Kolkata? Is it just that she is contrarian in nature and feels the need to oppose for opposition’s sake? And does she really think India deserves her as a PM or to be held hostage to her whims and fancies, once these elections are over? She has achieved the near-impossible task of even making the leftist goons look like little cherubs in comparison! Heaven forbid that she gets to do to India what she has done to West Bengal in 3 short, miserable years!!!
