Public service announcement: This mans name is Joe Knott. Mr Knott recently private messaged our daughter via Facebook with the intentions of soliciting her for not so good reasons. Katrina brought this to our attention immediately. I took control of the conversation and preceded to bait this pervert. He believed he was messaging a 16 yr old girl when in fact it was me. Hes 41 years old, married, and has a small daughter of his own...and you can probably imagine the things he was saying. After a very unhelpful call to the Indiana State Police, I took matters into my own hands and arranged a rendezvous with him in Scottsburg. Remember...he thought he was meeting a 16 yr old girl. When he saw me walk around the corner of the building he immediately panicked. For those of you that know me, you know Im nowhere near a violent guy...but it took all of about 45 seconds for me to put the fear of God in this man. It was all I could do not to snatch the life right out of him. After I was done with him (I never touched him) he sped away. Not 30 seconds later, a Scottsburg City officer pulled up and I spoke with him. Apparently, my wife called them and told them about the whole situation. I kept her in the loop about the entire thing. The officer told me she called him and said Id be there and Id be armed. This was the most understanding officer Ive ever met, considering I had 3 guns on me at the time. When all was said and done he shook my hand, gave me some advice on what to do next, and we parted ways. Props to him. Katrina knows about all this. Ive told her to take it and use it as a learning experience...people like this pervert are out there, and this guy was right down the street. He lives in Memphis, In right on highway 31, works at Aisin in Seymour, and from what he texted me, attends local high school ballgames regularly. Dont let your kids anywhere near this man. A big thanks goes out to the Scottsburg police and the Jackson Co sheriffs Dept for taking our concerns very seriously when the State Police wouldnt. This guy is lucky to still be breathing today...
