Purple Finch (female) Copyright(C) Shawn Fitzpatrick I dont often post many photos of the same bird, but usually I have very many shots of a particular bird or subject in general for that matter. But, times are a slow on the birding scene these days. That combined with the inclement weather conditions not being conducive to much other than a building being out there in this dark time of winter, leaves me with the freedom to improvise. I can do this with things like MORE pictures of the same subject, LOL. Right!! My friend Lancy Cheng, likened this first shot to that of a werewolfinch, :-). Im good with that! These two shots though are interesting to me for their aesthetic beauty, but also, to draw attention to the magnificently powerful beaks of these relatively small birds.
