Put two trickle chargers from Harbor Freight in the ATV shed for - TopicsExpress

Put two trickle chargers from Harbor Freight in the ATV shed for the ATVs ($15 each). Theyre 1.5 watt panels. I checked and in full sunlight theyre generating 22 volts. Not too shabby. Next I put a solar powered shed light in the chicken coop. Trying to avoid having to run power out there. Im hoping it will charge enough during the day to run for a couple hours after dark. The panel is a little 1 watt panel charging 4 AA nicads. Im not sure if this plan is going to work. I might need to try and cobble together a solar switch that turns on the light after dark. The batteries and charging circuit are in the panel (outside the coop) while the light is a little fluorescent inside, so it wont be hard to interrupt the line. I just dont know if a little stand alone switch like that is available. I poked around Radio Shack, but theyre embarrassing now. You used to be able to find anything there. Now its just over priced phones and shit.
