Putts for Pups is an OPH fundraiser to help raise awareness and funding for our Medical Dogs. We wanted to introduce you to Henry ~ Operation Paws for Homes (OPH) found Henry, a 3 year old Shepherd Mix, who arrived in OPH with a parade of horrors. Unbeknownst to our team, Henry had been suffering with open wounds all over his face, lower body, and legs. He had been in this condition for days, left to suffer in pain on a hard, cold concrete floor over a holiday weekend at the shelter while the shelter was closed. By the time OPH took Henry in, he needed urgent medical attention. Through local partnerships with veterinary clinics, Henry’s new foster family was able to get Henry the urgent medical care he required from a local veterinarian. The cuts and wounds on his body were horrific – some cutting so deep his bone was exposed. The tissue around the wounds had developed into necrotic tissue and his fever was spiking at 105.8. Henry required immediate surgery to address the wounds (cleaning, stitching, and draining). After extensive medical care, Henry pulled through surgery. Henry was able to find a forever home through OPH. Without the support of our OPH supporters and the community, we would not have been able to make Henrys dream for a forever home - a reality!
