Q & A: Common Beginner Guitar Mistakes (Part I) 1. Learn songs that you like and always end a practice session by playing something fun. 2. Make sure you are holding your guitar, pick properly, and sitting comfortably. 3. Preparation for practice sessions/lessons separate from playing sessions, once you played it could mean the only shot you will get to draw in the crowd, i.e, your audiences! 4. Thinking that playing chords/rhythm is easier than playing single string melody/lead, I’ve learned to play lead before I could play rhythm because I was more interested in being a lead player. Starting off playing open chords, power chords or bar chords is hard if you haven’t built up strength yet. 5. More to learn and think always be a better way to do or master any techniques, keep on practicing!
