Q & A at the Goa Legislative Assembly on July 25, 2014 Question raised at the assembly by MLA Rohan Khaunte on IT Parks in the state and was answered by Minister for Department of Information Technology, Francis Dsouza IT Park at Socorro/Salvador-do-Mundo The Government has decided to withdraw the setting up of IT Park at Socorro/Salvador-do-Mundo, under survey nos. Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat at Dona Paula ITG had invited sealed bids for Re-allotment of plots at Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat at Dona Paula by leasing out five plots in accordance with “The Goa (Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat – Cancellation/Abolition and Regulation of Allotment of Plots) Act, 2012 (Goa Act 21 of 2012)”. However, there were no bids received for even a single plot upto the stipulated date and time. Hence, DoIT is taking action to explore the possibility of setting up Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat on war footing. Phase–I: The total land available is 2,85,296 sq mts in survey nos. 264 (part), 266 (part), 267, 268, 269, 270, 271 and 273 (part) of Village Taleigao in Tiswadi Taluka; and Phase–II: The total land available is 84,655 sq mts in survey nos. 238 (part) and 236 (part) of Village Taleigao in Tiswadi Taluka. As far is encroachment is carried out in the land in question the matter for eviction has been referred to the concerned authorities i.e. the Deputy Collector & SDO, Panaji and Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited for redressal.
