Q-Theory by Marc Rose Although some persons are more observant of your behavior and thereby see a more accurate projection of the way you actually feel, still, many ( if not the vast majority ) of your sincere expressions of emotion are imperceptible to others. No matter the mere appearances which others believe theyre perceiving, its ultimately you who actually knows the following 3 things: 1. The provoking perception which IS the cue youre perceiving. 2. The provocativeness of the cue which IS the intensity of your desire to express positive and/or negative emotions. 3. The emphatic-ness of the sincere emotion that youre actually expressing. Through simplistic reasoning based on observations of overwhelmingly abundant evidence which ubiquitously permeates all history, society, the natural world, and even your personal subjective experience, the following is observably true: You ( and everyone ) are affected by your own expressions of emotion in proportion to the emphatic-ness of your sincerely expressed emotions. ( to reiterate an important point...... Im referring to ones own intimately private expressions of sincere emotion irrelevant of what others might be aware of whatsoever. obviously you might be alone such that no one has the capacity to even know youre expressing emotions whatsoever. ) and in any case, the intensity of your sincerely expressed emotions, which for the most part, are known only by you, ARE setting (or programming) the intensity of provocativeness for that particular cue ( perception) ( perceived event or circumstance )
