QUESTION: Reading the OT and studying how the children of Israel took care of the House of God. Their reason for taking care of the temple was because thats where the Ark of the Covenant dwelt which contained Gods Spirit. After their traumatic experience with handling the Ark, they built God a house instead of moving the Ark around risking the chance of touching it. Notice that there was only 1 temple and it ONLY existed because there was only 1 Ark and they made sure that the House of God (the temple) had the best of everything!!! Now, TODAY, we have MANY buildings; and since God does not dwell in temples made with mans hands and our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, shouldnt we be taking care of and meeting the needs of one another since we are His temple and not the buildings??? Why do we not make sure that we (the real temple) have the best of everything instead of the buildings if we are the temple of God??? Too often, we overlook the needs of one another just to take money to the building so it can function as the temple as it just sits there!!! Lights on, water on, mortgage paid, nice furniture, building cleaned, lawn mowed, employees paid but the REAL TEMPLE is being neglected!!! Seems like we take better care of the building than we do the BODY!!!! Am I getting a proper understanding of scripture because thats what Im seeing as I read the Word of God. Can you help me understand this concept???? PLEASE......
