QUESTION TIME - TIME TO REASON! With due respect, is Alabo T.O. Graham-Douglas the who of Rivers State? I mean as conferred on him collectively and agreeably by the generality of the people of Rivers State, as to why he is in a position to decide which part of the state to produce the next governor, and who that person should be? If truly he, Alabo T.O. Graham-Douglas, met with some people in 1998 in his house to decide on zoning the governorship of the state as he has been saying, does that confer on him an absolute right over the rest of us to impose whatever decision reached amongst he and whoever the others were? No! Who says his decision is binding on all of us? No! If he and some of his cronies in PDP met then and took a decision, it is their decision and not our decision. Therefore, such decision can only be implemented between him and such other cronies of his, and not our business. This is democratic era and not pre-democratic 1998. It is the peoples right to so decide as they wish. U cant take that away from the people and have it right. If for any reason, a tribe or group of people feel they have a say and an aspiration to govern the state, the wiser thing I think they should do is to continue to reach out and dialogue with others to solicit for support and not with this crass pattern of coercion. It wont work that way. And who says if it is turn-by-turn that it must be the turn of the Kalabaris in 2015? Are the Kalabaris the only Riverine people in Rivers State? Are there no other Riverine people cut across the three SENATORIAL DISTRICTS of the State? That is to say if the Kalabaris are honest, sincere, fair and just in their quest for turn-by-turn based on Upland and Riverine rotational formula, they should reason that their Zone, RIVERS-WEST, has had their share of the governorship 1999 - 2007 through their candidate imposed on the Rivers people by the same Kalabaris led by the same recurring decimal Alabo T.O. Graham-Douglas and his kinsman, the now late Chief Marshal Harry. Now, just as they are pointing out that the present administration from 2007 - 2015 is led at that same capacity by someone from Ikwerre which is part of another Senatorial District (RIVERS-EAST), then wont it be fair, equitable and just for the Kalabaris to champion the course for the emergence of a credible candidate from the next Senatorial District (RIVERS-SOUTH-EAST) preferably from among the Riverine folks there? Anything short of this thinking, automatically discredits and nullifies the agitation that it is the turn of the Riverine Kalabaris. Besides, from 1999 to the last elections in 2011, the Kalabaris have always had candidates aspiring, vying and contesting elections at that level just that they did not win not because it was not their turn but because those candidates failed to win. If they had won then, would this Kalabari agitators have had the courage to say no to such victory and therefore asked that it be given back to the rightful owners? Just asking... That been the case or not, does it not make mockery of Alabo T.O. Graham-Douglas and cos stance? Lets think right and decide rightly!
