General Assembly, a law was passed creating the Town of Roberdel. The Town Board consisted of three commissioners and a Marshall. Until the first elections in May, 1889, commissioners were: Mayor, Marion Jones; commissioners, W. H. Norman, J. H. Robinson and R. Jenkinson. The Marshall was Jesse Reynolds. The commissioners were given full control of the sale or vending of spirituous or malt liquors, wines or cider within the limits of said corporation... as well as authority to levy taxes.
