“No! It can’t be? This isn’t true... I don’t have it. I know why this has happened!” A Sudanese lady was distraught after examinations and tests confirmed that she had diabetes. As soon as she heard the news she started crying, convinced that this was the result of problems at home. "My husband and I have had fights and arguments. I know this bad health is a result.” We reassured her, and talked to her about diabetes and how to manage it. She calmed down and slowly started to understand the situation. We asked a Sudanese social worker to contact the husband and to try and encourage them in the challenges they were facing. The women is now managing her diabetes well, and has come back to the clinic to thank us, “I feel so much better. I am so grateful to you!” Lord, bless this couple. Care and love on the many families who are forced to leave their homes. Encourage them through your Holy Spirit.
