QVITI - Call to Action. You are no doubt aware of the devastating floods that hit the people of Fiji. The response by family and friends overseas who donate funds for immediate needs such as food and clothing is always strong. However, we believe that a sustainable approach is also needed to help lessen the impact of floods in the future. That is why we have established QVITI, to raise money to fund a few important Projects identified by community groups in Fiji. Our approach is to fund projects focusing on a more proactive approach to natural disaster mitigation that will save lives, homes and reduce the damage bill of an inevitable flood that Fiji will most likely experience once again. WHO WE ARE QVITI is a Brisbane,Queensland based group made up of ex-Fiji residents acting to support rehabilitation projects aimed at flood mitigation. OUR AIM QVITI was established to raise money to fund sustainable projects in Fiji such as an integrated flood management system, an early flood warning system and to promote better urban planning to avoid development in flood prone areas. WHO BENEFITS We aim to assist communities in Fiji that have been identified by reputable organisations in Fiji as communities in urgent need of help and groups we can develop a partnership with.
