The Company invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE Job Purpose To position and align the organization to ensure that its performance is focused on maximum value creation, long term viability and growth. There are obviously values that will drive the process and these are:- • Facts and figures will be employed to justify variation from Key Result Areas (KRAs) and resistance to change will be managed • Success and value creation will be acknowledged and celebrated • Sub-standard and unacceptable performance will not be tolerated • The organization will implement what is agreed upon in the context of a planning process. Increased value creation will only be achieved if the plan in implemented • Management will fully back the plan and visibly support it. Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will source new business, maintain existing business, and will have a wide range of duties including (but not exclusively): • Be aware of the key trends in the market and take appropriate action • Have extensive knowledge of competitors and be in position to counter their sales strategies • Establish key relationships with clients and agencies to ensure maximum exposure and increase revenue • Have full knowledge of the products and services offered • Demonstrate a “can do” attitude at all times and be able to work independently • Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements • Carry out other duties/tasks outside normal routines but within the overall scope of the job; -compile reports -Analyze debtor’s profile -Facilitate the entire sales delivery process -Self-development -Contributing to team wellbeing • To be proactive with locating and developing new business in line with the stipulated KRAs Your KRA’s are:- 1. New business acquisition - Effectively utilize company resources, including inventory and advertising in a bid to find new customers 2. Key Account Management - Maximize the return on investment in a customer by defining and actioning appropriate plans that will enable you to build on the present and manage the future. To achieve this, you as the client’s single point of contact must:- • Develop a strategic approach to account management and customer relationships • Construct and implement profitable long-term account plans • Gain a better understanding of your customers needs and expectations • Enhance the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate with key decision makers • Build stronger value-added customer relationships leading to increased revenues • Create support processes that fulfill customer expectations and facilitate best practice key account management • Increasing account revenue and profitability 3. Lead generation - Help sniff out innovative ideas to improve sales performance 4. Lead follow up - Sales lead has the potential to become not only a customer, but also to transform itself into a satisfied customer that represents a dependable stream of repeat revenue year after year. Customer retention - Interpersonal skills - Communicate positively with team members, customers, regional’s, and headquarters. 5. Negotiating skills - Recommend selections that meet the customers needs, and emphasize selling points of items such as quality, utility, versatility, etc. 6. Product knowledge - Be equipped with sufficient knowledge to conduct computer hardware equipment demonstrations to customers; provide information on the benefits and uses of a variety of accessories; answer customer’s questions and encourage them to purchase the products being demonstrated. 7. Sales Forecasting Knowledge • IT industry • Sales Process • Asset based finance and basic calculations • Marketing and advertising Qualifications • Candidate must have 3 or more years of experience in a similar role with excellent understanding of our target market • Candidate must have a Business/Marketing degree or equivalent • Candidate must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and guidance • Candidate must be a self – starter and highly motivated • Candidates must possess excellent knowledge of IT Hardware like PCs, Laptops, Servers, and Printers. • Ability to meet sales targets. • Enthusiasm, reliability and the ability to multi-task. • Strong communication and follow-up skills. • Technical abilities, PC and Internet literacy. • Willing to work outside prescribed working hours.
