Quality work is always going to be more important than total work. - TopicsExpress

Quality work is always going to be more important than total work. ‘Junk volume training’ is not smart training. In general regular additional structural and systemic stress from intensity work or just too much extra work placed on the body as it is trying to go through the recovery process – makes full recovery not be possible. People prone to long junk-volume cardio sessions need to learn the lessons in the principles of exercise physiology -> namely that “more is NOT better.” In fact, more is usually detrimental to fitness progress and process. Add into that equation a restricted diet – and you have a recipe for complete body shut down – and if it goes on long enough – metabolic damage. Doing longer cardio sessions while restricting calories even more just because the contest date is closer simply adds to the stress of the already unrecovered physique and metabolism. Read my book “Metabolic Damage and the Dangers of Dieting. bit.ly/ungEGR” Can’t believe this nonsense still passes for “Coaching.”
