Question: Does anyone know if Round or Hook Worms survive out in the Michigan Cold? My Lab Pup now 12 weeks old. When she was 8 weeks old she was taken over my parents house while I dog sat their 3 labs. Not realizing pups get worms after birth from their mother I didnt pick her poop up. Didnt think anything of it, my parents 3 labs ate the poop (Im pretty sure). She was taken to vet a week later for her 1st visit at vet with us when we found out she had worms still. My dads dogs are on heart guard, and will be getting a dose of deworming today. They could still re-infect themselves if they eat poop. Its just my dad and he cant follow each one outside….. Also my pup pooped 3 times in the house before I found out she had worms, and we have an 12mo old. At the time the pooped was cleaned up right away, but doesnt mean there isnt eggs. any suggestions. One pup is causing a lot of stress dealing with worms.
