Question: I often install small panels in front of existing windows, using silicone caulk to seal them over the existing glass. From time to time, weather causes fogging between my panel and the glass. Over time, some small amount of dust accumulates behind the stained glass panel, creating the need to remove the caulk, clean the window and art, and reinstall. This is especially true when installing in a door, or other moving surface, where a free hanging piece is not appropriate. Heres an example, a bathroom window. The proper way to do this would be to have the art sealed within its own vacuum sandwich of glass, then installed in place of, or in front of, existing glass. Expensive, and consumes an inch of space all around the art. Do any of you have any tricks/tips for installing a piece in front of existing glass that prevents fogging and dust accumulation?
