Question: What happens when you have a group of residential care seniors, some community singers, a Golden Oldie and a video camera all in one room? Answer: A heart-lifting moment, that’s what. With One Voice Altona Meadows choir is continuing to go from strength to strength. The sweet sound of their voices and their joy is palatable as they come together each week to sing under the direction of the effervescent and well-loved conductor Kym Dillon. They took time out of their weekly rehearsals to sing their unique rendition of As Time Goes By which is a song close to many of their hearts! Sing for Spring is an online and face-to-face fundraising campaign to connect the members of our community, improve individual and community wellbeing, and raise awareness of the benefits of singing for health, happiness and creativity. Winners will be shown on the big screen at Federation Square and Melbourne Town Hall in October. During the month of September, our vision is to get all of the schools, workplaces, community clubs, and homes of Australia singing! You can be a part of helping making moments like this happen. The Altona Meadows choir are helping to raise awareness of the benefits of singing for community and individual health, no matter your age!! Please go to their fundraising page to support and share their video. Every small bit adds up! Also check out the entries by other members of the public and get involved! We hope you enjoy their singing and obvious enjoyment!
