Question: Which film has the best word of mouth so far in India - TopicsExpress

Question: Which film has the best word of mouth so far in India this year? And how would you describe the word of mouth of that film? – Answer: Tough question to answer. Films like Aashiqui 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Special 26, Grand Masti and a few others sustained well for a good 3 or 4 weeks at the box office. Even a small film like The Lunchbox managed to collect 20 cr+ only because the appreciation for the film in major cities was huge But the film with the best word-of-mouth has to be Chennai Express. Three reasons 1. Universal success: The film did well from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. In fact, it was also the best received film in all the overseas markets. 2. Competition: Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Dobaara, Madras Cafe, Satyagraha and Shuddh Desi Romance released back-to-back, but Chennai Express remained steady unaffected by other films. There are reports that a Kolkata single-screen (Aaliya) has replaced Besharam with Chennai Express this week 3. Repeat-value: No film can collect 200 cr + if it doesn’t have repeat-valueP.S – Before CE, the last Shahrukh Khan film that was universally accepted and had the best word-of-mouth was RabNe Bana Di Jodi way back in 2008.
