Questions for those who go to conventions. How old where you when you went to your first convention alone (without parents), me personally I was 17. Reason Im asking is when I read up on the story of the 17yr old girl at SDCC, Im that sill person that reads comments(bad I know lol) but everyone blames the parents for letting her go alone. I had very protective parents and they let me go. My friends and I cant be the only people who went unsupervised at 17. Sure I had to call my mom every morning, but I really personally cant blame the parents for letting her go. It was a shitty situation and not something you would expect to happen to your child at a convention. Also, in case you havent heard or kept up, there are claims from the parents that the police are just trying to close it, and she doesnt believe her daughter just fell I can give you links if you want.
