Quick lesson on two words, Cheap and Inexpensive. Cheap means item may be lowest of standards and barley gets job done, but does. Inexpensive means item of standard , equal to or greater than for less money. We in June soliciated 6 vendors to install a new roof , new siding and gutters. All had a list of 20 plus items they had to meet. Two did not respond with a price, two had to sub contract the siding work. All had to purchase roofing materials at one place and a special order size and color siding. I told up front everyone who and it could be more that would be getting us a proposal. Three told me one vendor is cheap and you will not get the job we wanted . Prices came back, everyone priced out roof, three with add ons , chimney flashing, vent flashing, gutters some items on our list.averaged about a $1,500.00 up charge. One included it all. We also decided to replace our front storm door. The one that included everything through that in. Hhhmmmmm. So at the decision table it was a no brainer. Rockys Roofing and Remodeling who has been around 30 plus years got the job, He was $10,500.00 Next $14,800.00 Next $ 15,200.00 Next $ $16,000.00 So we went with the true inexpensive contractor, not what others were saying the cheap one!,,,, Pictures on completion to be posted
