Quick update - Emerson is officially getting moved out of ICU tonight!!! Although her left lung is partially collapsed.... The goal now is to transition her from the IV antibiotics to oral ones and to get her completely off of the oxygen and to make sure her levels remain up. When that happens she can come home and finish healing as an outpatient!! Because she has been in isolation, after 6 days today was the first day I was able to see the rest of my kids!! Jeff was able to take over for the night so I could come home and make dinner for them, bathe them and tuck them in!! It was exactly what I needed! I am hoping to get some rest myself before I head back to the hospital in the morning. It must be said.... It is overwhelming to come home in a bit of an exhausted emotional fog and open my fridge to find it full of prepared meals and groceries!! I am eternally grateful for my family and friends and neighbors!!! You guys are the best!!! At least I know my family wont starve 😉 however.... They have taken running out of toilet paper to a whole new level. I found the container of Boogie Wipes next to the toilet!!! 😳
