Quick update: Agatha is still hanging on. Making more determined attempts to get up. She drank her beer again, and I drenched her with the propolyn. Warm syrup water and electrolytes as well as her chaffhaye, pellets and rice bran. She ate some hay with enthusiasm a few minutes ago. She is snug and dry in the barn - its wicked nasty outside, biting wind and below freezing. The porch is iced so thats a trip trying to get up and down safely. Luckily Snoot is at my side to steady me. The rest of the flock got a little corn, just because - not because they need any - all are at a very good weight except Viola who is thinner than Id like, but she still looks good (shes 7) and is still the Queen, getting first pick of everything tasty. On cold nights like this, where it is wet and nasty, they get a little corn or oats to help keep them warm. Rice bran mixed in with their mineral mix gives a little extra boost as well.
