Quite a day! Mom is back home in her apartment. She apparently had a TIA with transient global amnesia. Overnight her memory came back except for the period during her episode. Tests all came back fine, so the only negative was that her blood pressure was way too high. Shes restricted from driving for a week, has a doctors appointment next week, and is scheduled for a neuro checkup in October. Thank you, God! Heidi had a pretty good day. She didnt have physical therapy until later this afternoon. The team had planned to take her outside, but she had a seizure in her wheelchair after standing and trying to take a few walking steps. She came out of it quickly and passed her check by the neuro team with flying colors. The doctors told John the seizure wasnt unusual. Reassuring, but still scary. The neuro team, including the lead neurosurgeon, were all impressed with Heidis progress in such a short time. Thats our girl!! She did the drill with following commands. John gave her the instructions to follow while the doctors looked on. Heidi liked that method, I guess, because she did everything John asked her to do without him showing her what he wanted. Proved to the docs that she understands verbal commands and isnt just copying what she sees someone else doing. She hasnt made the move to the rehab facility yet, but she has several people working to make it happen soon. Shes a fighter! Prayer requests would include the absence of further seizures, the continued steps forward in her therapy, and a transfer from the hospital soon. We also need to be extremely thankful for Gods healing touch for both Heidi and Mom. Clark and I continue to thrive through everything because of your prayer support. Every communication from all of you is a huge boost when our spirits are flagging. Our strength is from the Lord!!
