Quite a week - Sir Roger Moore and his wife in for lunch on Wednesday and Rick, our Sous Chef and his wife Heather have just had a baby this afternoon!!! (not sure on size, but hes called Ryan and Im sure will be a handful for his mum! Congratulations from us all!) Sir Roger was great fun - a real gent, very appreciative and just really nice company. We werent sure what to expect if Im honest, but to get the call from his office at Pinewood Studios: could you fit Sir Roger Moore in for lunch on the 6th?.... uhh, Yeah. Think we can do that!! Anyway - it went well from our perspective and we got a message thanking us afterwards, which hopefully means he enjoyed it as well! Quite a few guests have since requested we invite Daniel Craig in as hes from West Kirby/Hoylake way - but Im afraid thats not the way it works! What else... got some new beers to try from the Stonehouse brewery that weve heard good things about, got some new Sauvignon blanc from a winemaker friend of a friend in New Zealand to try, local pheasant on the menu (got some Eaton Estate venison on order for the end of the month as well...!), and a lovely new after dinner cocktail for people to try (Brandy Alexander - chocolate liqueur, brandy, cream and finished off with grated nutmeg - lush!)... Anyway - better get going. Its very late and Ive got the Sunday menus to get ready....
