On top of the increasing number of sinkholes appearing, this practice of fracking is infiltrating and polluting freshwater sources. Once a source of water is contaminated by the chemicals used during the drilling process, it cannot be cleaned, even through a water treatment plant. Oil companies are making billions of dollars off of destroying the earth. This is not something we should take lightly. The public deserves to know what is going on, especially when there are other sources of energy that can completely replace the need for fossil fuels.
