It is very difficult for me to give you these News...After we found Chase on the road to the dump with a very damaged paw, we brought him to the Sint Maarten Veterinary Clinic in Cay hill, where they decided that his paw had to be amputated. After surgery I took him to my home to take care of him, let him recover, gave him lots of attention and as much love I was able to give him. After a few weeks he suddenly started to chew his other back paw. I then brought him back to the Clinic where they tried to save it. New bandage every day, wearing a cone, each time his paw became better, he started to distroy himself again. He could hardly walk any more...We then had to admit that Chase has not only a severely mental problem but also was suffering physically due to the damage he did to himself. Nobody knows what this poor dog went through before we met him. Letting him do this to himself was for all us a sign. Keeping him alive would have been more torture to him. I would like to thank Dr. Swanston, Dr. Eva de Vries and Dekha Swanston for all the patience, care and love they gave him. He is one of the sadest rescue stories I went through....Chase is in heaven now....RIP boy, you are forever in my heart
