Quoting the original poster, Carlos Miller: The one-eyed cop who was acquitted in the beating death of Kelly Thomas has been collecting $40,000 a year in disability from the LAPD since 1997 after he was not allowed to return to work following the shooting that left him with one eye. But that didnt stop him from applying and accepting a job at the Fullerton Police Department where he received a full-time salary despite supposedly being 70 percent disabled. And thats not stopping him from trying to get that job back now that he has been cleared of beating a man to death. Most people who receive tax-funded disability checks are not allowed to accept wages for employment because thats the whole point of disability. That you are unable to work, which is why youre receiving the money. But cops are gods. They are above us. They are here to protect us, so the rules do not apply to them, even if its something as blatant as double-dipping from Southern California taxpayers. This is why I thank them for keeping me safe.
