R*E*V*E*A*L*E*D I WILL IMPEACH OKOROCHA IF I DONT GET APC TICKET- IKENNA EMEH SAYS HE HAD AN AGREEMENT WITH GOVERNOR BEFORE HELPING HIM TO STABILIZE THE HOUSE. INSISTS UCHE NWOSU HAS STEPPED DOWN FOR HIM The member representing Isu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly and a house of representatives hopeful for Isu/Njaba/Nwangele/Nkwere Federal Constituency, Barrister Ikenna Emeh has boasted that he stands the clearest chance of picking the APC ticket for the House of Representatives, with the full support of the Governor and the Party hierarchy in the State. According to him, the Governor will have no justification for denying him the ticket, because it was agreed from inception that he will be settled with the Partys ticket for his absolute support to the Governor. Addressing CGC officials, APC Party executives and some members of his LGAs transition Committee in his residence at Uloano Ndugba on Sunday the 17th day of August, 2014, he noted that he had come to them because of the rumors making the round that he is not loved by his people. He insinuated that the meeting was just in fulfillment of all righteousness, since he does not really require their support to get the ticket, stating that the deal is already done. He boasted that he has been the singular pillar holding the House of Assembly together, and can singularly initiate, pursue and prosecute an impeachment proposal against the Governor should the Governor fail to live up to his own side of their bargain. He also claimed to have been the brain behind fifty out of the about sixty eight bills which the sixth assembly has treated in its life span. He is confident that as the Governors principal consultant to the State Legislature, his clinching of the ticket is a settled matter, hence his attention should be directed at strategies for winning the main election. Going on, he said that the Governor has shown good faith in keeping to their agreement, by asking his son-in-law who was rumored to be interested in the race to step down for him. According to one of the Party executives who attended the meeting and spoke to me on condition of anonymity; Honorable Ikenna has been in that House for close to eight years and we can hardly boast of having benefited anything from him, even though he has always been close to the Governors. He has rather concentrated on acquiring wealth and properties for himself and care little about the fate of his constituents. Our youths are unemployed, our roads are in terrible conditions, except the one passing through this his house, and he did not even complete the road. As substandard as the road is, it is still halfway done. I must tell you that Barrister Ikenna is a very selfish man, he is only bothered about himself and the things that concern him and his family. When pressed on why he attended a meeting summoned by a man he has this much reservations about, he made it clear that he was just there for the money he can get from it, but is disappointed that he was only able to give them two thousand Naira. You see, these politicians are very wicked people. It is only around this election period that you will have an opportunity to see them or benefit anything from them. So, when they call for a meeting this time around, I will go. But as you can see, Ikenna is so tightfisted that even during this period of election, he hardly gives. Can you imagine that the only thing he gave us is two thousand Naira for each of us, after we have spent some good money coming from our different autonomous communities. We are waiting for him at the polls, and the Party will make the worst mistake if they give him the ticket. *************************************************************************** I think Ikenna Emehs threat is very instructive and should make us understand the sorry state of governance in the in the State and the country at large. Impeachment which is supposed to be wielded by the legislators as a check to the Governor is only talked about when there is a conflict of interest between the power brokers and not when there is a betrayal of the masses interest. If Ikenna Emeh can initiate impeachment moves against the Governor for not giving him the Partys ticket, why cant he initiate impeachment moves against the Governor for the many incidents of misconduct which the Governor is involved in? Why cant he initiate impeachment moves against the Governor for the glaring cases of misappropriation of funds? Why cant he initiate impeachment proceedings against the Governor for the substandard projects that litter every part of the State? GOD IS WATCHING ALL OF US, AND THE PEOPLE ARE TAKING NOTE! IMO GA ADI MMA OZO!
