R~ I am amazed that this post stopped almost all the atheists from commenting, so I have decided to post it again (with the typo fixed), and with the applicable quote from 1 Corinthians 1:26-29. May God touch many lives with it: Don’t you love movies where the nasty bully gets his face pushed in the mud and the bullied kid becomes the hero? But have you noticed that that rarely happens in real life…or does it? Years ago, I told 100 kids to line up for candy. As I looked at the line I noticed that it was a line of greed. The greedy brats were at the front, and the quiet sickly and humble kids had been pushed to the back. So I took great delight in turning the line around 180 degrees and going to the quiet sickly kids first, much to the disgust of the greedy brats at the back. In this world where the arrogant and rich get richer and the humble and the poor get stomped on, God has turned the line around. The Bible says that He trapped the greedy brats in their “own craftiness.” He did this by choosing “foolish things to confound the wise.” To show how He did it, let me ask you some questions. Do you believe that God made Adam and Eve? Do you believe that Noah built an ark? How about the story of Moses opening the Red Sea? What about Jonah and the whale and 101 other Bible stories, most of which are harder to swallow than a whale? If you have any intellectual dignity you would never stoop to believe such foolishness…because it is beneath you. Such is the wisdom of God. Your condescending pride automatically pushes you to the back of the line. Jesus said “I thank you O Father that you have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. He said that unless you become as a little child, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. In other words, God has made the door of everlasting life very low. He’s turned the line around by choosing what the Bible calls foolish things to confound the wise. He caused such foolish-sounding things to happen that only the humble would believe. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 Now watch arrogant and condescending comments by proud God-haters to see the wonderful wisdom of God in doing this.
