RAANJHANAA>>>>Raanjhanaa narrates the tale of Kundan(Dhanush) & Zoya(Sonam Kapoor) who takes you on a journey of love with the painful heartbreaks, where the boy is a brahmin and the girl is muslim the obvious which is not going to work out in reality. Kundan is a silly lover who happens to see Zoya at a very tender age and falls for her, with his best friends help and support he tries to pursue Zoya persistently in spite of many failures. Anand L Rai has done an amazing job in containing the innocence when Kundan proposes Zoya the first time and it takes 15 slaps to know her name. The romantic scenes during the school days has been captured well and Dhanush suits the school boy role hands down. As they grow up the scripts grows on you as well with the entry of Abhay Deol(Akram) who is dynamic and charismatic with a vital role in the movie. The love story merges in to a political drama with inspiring thoughts and principles. Dhanush who made his debut in bollywood with Raanjhanaa never would have thought it would reach this well, not at any point you feel that he is new to the language, he is clear with a little tinge of south slang. His performance is outstanding which was well applauded and welcomed by the audiences. Whether it’s the school boy or the silly lover or a life changing leader he is simply stunning, his performance is something you would talk even after leaving the cinema hall. It would be the best performance till date for Sonam Kapoor who at last has grown in to a full fledged actress, she is a delight with her kid like smile, wavy hair, cutest dimple and enchanting eyes. She as Zoya is on par with Kundan her character has many shades which she played it with utmost dedication. Abhay Deol as Akram charms you in every shot you see him. Supported by Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub & Swara Bhaskar as best friends have given a perfect meaning to it with their good performances. The music of the movie does play a great role, composed by A.R.Rahman which is stunning, who after quite a gap is back, all the tracks have different mood and is well placed in the movie, Whether It’s colorful “RaanJhanaa” , naughty “Tum Tak” or Inspiring “Tu Man Shudi” or mesmerizing “Banarasiya” A.R.R takes you on a musical journey which you would like to continue even after it ends. With Hemal’s crafty editing, Vishal Sinha & Nataraja Subramanian’s delectable cinematography and Sound mixing by Arun Nambiar gives you a complete package. It’s well said that “Anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly” quoted by-Rose Franken…that’s very true in the case of Raanjhanaa, A heartbreaking love story with some unexpected twists and turns. Dhanush is a perfect lover he had proved his mark in tamil and now hindi audiences are going to love him as well, way to go machi.
