#RAG Read & prepere yourself Correspondent): At least three Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men of Jahangirnagar University (JU) were injured during a clash between two factions of the ruling party’s student wing allegedly centering ragging to a fresher student on Sunday mid night. The clash occurred between two groups of Banghabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman hall and Shaheed Rafiq Jabber hall while three BCL men of both dormitories injured critically. The injured BCL men are identified as Shamim of International Relation department, Habibullah of Public Administration and Roni of Archeology department. All are second year student of the university. Sources said, Shamim who is resident of Rafiq Jabber (RJ) hall was ragging to Uzzal Hossen Raza, a first year student of Fine Arts department while Uzzal was tortured physically and mentally roughly. Receiving information Habibullah and Roni, both are resident of Banghabandu hall, rushed to protest the ragging and to save Uzzal while some BCL activists led by Shamim launched and attack to protesters and injured Habibullah and Roni. Shamim also claimed that, some activists of Banghabandhu hall beat up him in the meantime of altercation. Controlling the situation JU BCL Cultural Secretary Abdul Qaiyum Bipul and Organizing Secretary Murshidur Rahman Akand rushed the injured to university medical Centre and later shifted to Enam Medical College Hospital. Additional polices have been deployed in the campus to avert untoward situation as a tense situation has been prevailing between the two dorms. Proctor of the university Prof Dr Tapan Kumar Saha said, action must be taken after investigation and show cause notice have been served to both factions in this regards.
