"RAIN, COME TO SLUMBER" Rain, rain Come to slumber Rest your clouds in the loudest way The days seem so numbered Counting everything your droplets say Oh won’t you ever stay another day dear rain I promise to give you a name that’ll never change The winds of time blow me towards you Is the past really our destination For I am new to the old and bold before a few I was told of lands above the sky No lore or lies so I prepared my high I’ll close my eyes till the sands settle And shove shovels at the first quake Waiting for the morning trembles to awake Lying out across shores that break forests from lakes Winking back at the stars closest and far All resting on their blanket of endlessness They are happy tonight Giddy in flight from left to right From the northern plains and western lanes While I reside on the eastern hills Summoning saints at will Knowing they bring a thrill for my soul Tomorrow we go to the clouds above Atlantis The lights shine with fragrant lust there And only thing to bear there is another forgotten breeze through my hair A blue ray so fair across my maiden’s eye Indeed, the rain has come to slumber Written by Tamba Coffey My Official XIC Blog: immaculate0collections.blogspot/
