By David Ali Lil man Lil man I need you to know how blind you have become The swirling thoughts inside your brilliant mind have sadly made you so dumb. What makes you think that you can boldly behave the way you do Shooting into crowds without any aim knowing cameras are watching you. So many people died on ships and drowned in oceans and hung from trees so you can be free But somewhere along the way you missed the message that was meant for you and me Let me remind you or tell you if you haven’t heard about real men like Marcus, Malcolm and Martin They wore suits and fought the devil for you, learned, taught, lived and died for you and left wisdom seeds to plant in your garden But you choose to eat your knowledge from a field of poison weeds some of which you smoke. You are so malnourished and sick now and you live and behave in such a way that the world thinks all black boys and men are a joke. When you shoot into crowds and hit a small child does that make you feel like a winner? It should because there is a prize waiting for you and it’s one proudly won by others who foolishly choose to be violent sinners Your life is over just as fast as it takes for you to commit yourself to your sin But I ask you now to please my brother reconsider your choice and pursue a different prize to win. No talk of religion and no blue eyed god will I offer you here today I’m simply teaching you that you’ve been bamboozled run amuck and very skillfully led astray Now that you’ve heard my truth you have to believe and act on what I’ve said If you don’t let me tell you that you may have the gun but you may as well be dead Because someone will find you and your gun very soon you see and teach you 2 important lessons 1) Real black men live free because they have pride respect and protect their community and 2) violent sinners simply become enslaved felons In other words if you keep terrorizing the community and hurting us all then slavery will be your prize. No women in jail son just a funny smell and thousands of enslaved bamboozled guys. You don’t’ believe me? I’m only teaching you what you should already know about The 13th Amendment. Real talk. Not fiction. It says "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
