RAOKD By phone call from House of Ruth last week: This is my tree & I love it. I was offered toys for the little ones, food & a tree. I didnt ask for this, & certainly didnt expect it. My 9 yr old daughter was taken into a room to pick out gifts for me as well. The staff came & asked if I wanted a fresh tree, or a prelit artificial tree. I really had to think about what I wanted. I wanted a new memory of Christmas, & this represents a new light. House of Ruth has taught me so much about the many ugly faces of domestic violence. This tree is bright & free & lights up the room. This tree was unwanted & the box was damaged. But just like me, its still standing tall.
